Super stoked on this purchase. I just started getting into DIY stuff, and this book is GREAT for people just getting started, or the DIY pro.
Projects were typically illustrated with photos (completed project) and line drawings (intermediate steps). For me it was just mildly interesting to flip through. I checked out this book from the library. Anyway, if you're young and a beginning sewer, you might get something out of this book. I'd suggest previewing this book in the library or bookstore to make sure it's really what you want before buying it. Although I'm too old to wear such t-shirt styles, some were creative and looked nice on the models (I thought the flapper dress was cute). The overall organization of the book was good, and the instructions seemed thorough (I never tried making anything, though).
What a clever book. But hey, we all have T-Shirts and we don't wear all of them. I am a seamstress and so many of these ideas can certainly be applied to my creations in knits. I am a visual person, and love the line drawings in the book.
I am teaching a gal to sew, and this book will certainly spike up the degree of her creativity, she fits the mold and can wear all the styles. Very Clever. Many of the designs in the book can be easily adapted to a larger size,and modified by wearing a tank top underneath,so as to avoid the obscene look. It will be so much fun to see what she can do after she learns the basics. The book depicts skinny gals, so of course you have to have some creativity to fluctuate the sizing. Wish I'd wrote it.
I certainly am not disappointed in this great idea book. That was my main reason for buying the book, to spike her creativity and keep her desire to learn to sew in high gear.I feel the book is well worth the money spent on it. Well illustrated. Many darling skirts,flirty full skirts, skinny skirts, and skirts that can be worn as tops using a couple to three T-shirts.
Many of these items are very easy to make and also fashonable. I love this book. I've started to make some of the items with my daughter and we are looking forward to making more.
I'm a college student, and getting old tshirts from friends for free to make them into new clothes has saved me a ton of money. This book is a great beginner's how-to guide on making old t-shirts into new fantastic clothes - the projects are great ideas, and most of them can be fitted to any body type.
